Plexus Plastic Cleaner

Mike's favorite plastic cleaner

Plexus Plastic Cleaner is a must have for every scooterist! I use it mostly on my helmet visors to keep them clean and scratch free. In fact, that’s what it was invented for… Well, not quite, but close enough.

From their website: “Plexus® was developed for use in the aviation industry – specifically, for cleaning and protecting aircraft windshields and painted surfaces. As Plexus became more and more popular, people quickly discovered it could be used on a limitless variety of plastic surfaces. Since then, Plexus has continued to grow in popularity, and today it is recognized as the most effective plastic cleaner, protectant and polisher on the market.”

My dad used it on the windows on his Cessna. Pilots need to see to be safe, just like scooterists. Plexus is cool stuff because it cleans up your stuff, makes it shiny, and protects it by putting on a micro-thin layer of shiny, protective wax. And that will make your stuff last longer. It even resists scratching!

Unless you are addicted to old classic scooters like I am, you have a lot of beautiful colorful shiny plastic on your scooter. Plexus is perfect for it. In fact, the last step of every service we do is to give you scooter a quick cleaning with Plexus.

We carry it in 13 oz cans for $8.99 and pocket sized 0.5oz cans for $4.79. The smaller, pocket sized one is perfect for you glasses. I use it on all my glasses and sunglasses.

Independence Day Ride to Patagonia

July 4, 2009 by scootover

Today I led a ride from Scoot Over to Patagonia to watch their Independence Day festivities, which included a parade and a “hanging”. There were 10 scooters today who braved the weather forecasters’ hopes of rain to make the long winding trip to Patagonia. We set off a little after 8:00am from Scoot Over and Crave and made to Patagonia just in time for the parade. The parade was big in a small town way. After the parade, we ate and watched the first half hour or so of the “hanging” melodrama. It started getting hot right about then, and when the sweat started dripping in my ears, I suggested we start for home. On the way back we stopped in Sonoita and Vail, and I made zero wrong turns, so we made it back much in much shorter time. Thanks to Argyll, April, John, Sean, Matt, Forrest, Tanner, Furey, Joe, Beth, James and his wife, and Dave (who rode from Green Valley) for a great ride today. No problems! Props to John for being hardcore on his newly resurrected Riva 125! See you next time.

The new Scoot! Magazine is here! It’s their 50th issue and includes the Scoot! 2009 Buyer’s Guide with information on just about every scooter available in the US.

There’s a great article on page 44 by Glenn Galatan in Phoenix about a scooter collector’s restaurant and shop called “Joe’s Farm Grill” in Gilbert. Glenn is an avid scooterist and is President of the Scooter Club of Metro Phoenix. They are organizing a rally at this restaurant later this year.

Demo Day 6/13/2009

June 17, 2009 by scootover

Scoot Over had its first ever Demo Day on 6/13/2009. It was a rousing success. We had hot dogs, $0.25 cokes from Mi Pizza, and cookies from Crave for everyone. KYMCO provided t-shirts and hats for giveaways. I’ve never seen so many test rides in one day! I rode the Symba for the first time. It’s a blast to ride, easy to shift, and fast and quick. Make sure to come join us next time.
